Royal Tart’s Suggest Oktoberfest Party Menu

Royal Tart’s Suggest Oktoberfest Party Menu
Oktoberfest was originally a wedding celebration and what a celebration it was! It was such a great party that people all over the world still celebrate Oktoberfest. Because we love to celebrate ourselves, Royal Tart has put together a great menu of traditional, quick & easy Oktoberfest favorites.

Last Minute Party Menu
I hosted a last minute party for 12 last night. We had a great time and no one even knew I had to pull together a menu and pull it together fast but I did with a little help from my grocery store, items from my pantry and El Indio (yes, I have mentioned El Indio in a blog or two in the past).

Long Hot Breeze Highball

The Long Hot Breeze Highball
Toast goodbye to the hot summer months over this long holiday weekend with this hip-hot highball–The Long Hot Breeze.

Party Perfect Chilaquiles

Party Perfect Chilaquiles
This past week we hosted our family reunion. We had a ton of fun. Per our family we ate exceptionally well. On the night that it was my turn to cook I made my crowd pleasing standby—the always fabulous Chilaquiles.

Impromptu Bastille Day Celebration

Impromptu Bastille Day Celebration
It’s Bastille Day––or as the French call it, “le 14 Juillet”––today and the Champs-Élysées will be party central with fireworks, parades, speeches, and joyous cries of “Viva la France!” to mark the storming of the Bastille in Paris on July 14, 1789.

Instant Summer Cocktail: Citrus Vodka Tonic

Instant Summer Cocktail: Citrus Vodka Tonic
It’s summer time which means sunny warm days and sultry nights. It means we need a summer cocktail; one that is lighter and brighter than our standards. To that end, I thought I would share my new favorite super easy summer cocktail.

Fireworks Cupcakes

Celebrate with Firework Cupcakes
Here’s a fun July 4th dessert–Independence Day Fireworks Cupcakes—really when are cupcakes not a fun dessert? My son and I made these cupcakes for his birthday and they were a big hit. I think they would be especially cute served at your next patriotic picnic or barbeque.

Perfect Patriotic Punch

Perfectly Patriotic Punch
Royal Tart has the perfect punch to serve at your 4th of July picnic or barbeque. The punch is Cherry Limeade Punch and it packs a punch. We serve it as a summer cocktail but it is especially perfect as an Independence Day cocktail because it is red.

Chocolate Whopper Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich Recipe

Chocolate Whopper Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich
In need of an amazing chocolaty dessert for your next dinner party, luncheon celebration or summer bbq? Do you need a “wowie” dessert for your July 4th barbeque?

Royal Tart offers a Father’s Day Celebration high on ease low on price. We kept your party costs down without sacrificing style and ease. We introduced “Dad Rocks” Father’s Day Celebration last month to a rousing success.

BBQ Sauce

Fancy Up Your BBQ Sauce
As many of you know The Royal Tart Team was in Chicago last weekend and took a food tour. One of the places we stopped was the famous Spice House in Old Town, Chicago.

Campout Blueprint

Royal Tart’s Slumber Party Campout Blueprint
This is a great slumber party for this time of year. You can celebrate so many special occasions using this theme. There are graduations, birthday parties, bachelor parties and “summer is here” slumber parties just to name a few.

Slumber Party Time

Slumber Party Time
It’s slumber party time! What does that mean? It means all week long Royal Tart is going to share some of its favorite slumber party ideas, party themes, party games, activities and the mostest funnest slumber party food.

Grilled Pizza

Grilled Pizza Recipe & Suggested Menu
Have you ever eaten grilled pizza? Have you ever made grilled pizza? During spring and summer these days just about anything and everything is grilled but some things are better grilled than others and I have found that grilled pizza is pretty darn good.

Viva el Cinco De Mayo: Margarita Jell-O Shot Recipe
Viva el Cinco De Mayo!!! Royal Tart hopes that if you are enjoying a frosty beer today to celebrate Cinco De Mayo that you do so with a Mexican beer or better a margarita. If neither of those suggestion sound like they will wet your whistle then try the Margarita Jell-O shots below.

Margaritas

Senoritas Y Margaritas Party
This year for Cinco De Mayo host a Margaritas and Senoritas party! Call you girlfriends and invite them over for a margarita tasting party. Serve several different types of margaritas or you can serve a signature margarita like a melon margarita or a peach margarita as well as margarita Jell-o shots

Kentucky Derby Party

Kentucky Derby Party, Food and Games
Here at Royal Tart we will celebrate just about anything but the Kentucky Derby is one of those special events we love because it has what all great celebrations have…history, style, food and libations.

Lemon Mousse

Lemon Mousse
Royal Tart is proud to share this lemon mousse recipe with you. It is a great dessert for a Mother’s Day Lunch or Brunch or an afternoon tea (if you are going to serve it at a tea party AND if you have extra tea cups serve the mousse in tea cups). The mousse is light but rich.

Family Birthday Dinner Party and Menu
My husband is celebrating another year. His birthday is early next week so this weekend we are going to host a family dinner. I grew up with the tradition of a celebratory family birthday dinner and have introduced it to my own family.

Grandpa Mandler's Amazing Waldorf Salad
For many of us Easter traditions center around church, family, the bunny and perhaps most importantly food; Two of us from Royal Tart recently celebrated an early Easter Dinner at my grandparent’s home.

Final Four Jello Shot

March Madness Jello Shot
Here at Royal Tart we are all about celebrating. Sometimes that celebration takes form as a baby shower or bridal shower and sometimes it takes form as a March Madness Final Four Party. However you like to celebrate Royal Tart will help you do it in style. Since Jell-O shots are reminiscent of college days it seems all to appropriate to offer a recipe for them

White Chocolate Matzo Bark
This recipe is destined to become a Royal Tart classic. We love the novelty and ease of this dessert or sweet snack as well as the look. Bark is often thought of as a winter holiday or Christmas Holiday treat but this Matzo Bark is destined to become a Passover or Spring Holiday Treat.

Chocolate Brown

Creme De Menthe Brownie
Here at Royal Tart we are beginning to wind down on the St. Patrick’s Day holiday and gear up for the next round of holiday parties, not to mention the birthday celebration of a cranky 12-year old cat on April 3. That being said, I am including one last 2009 St. Pat’s Recipe.

St Patrick's Rice Krispy & Lucky Charm Treat

St Patrick's Rice Krispy & Lucky Charm Treat
The boys are so into St. Patrick’s Day this year. Everyday this month they have come home with new stories of Leprechauns, rainbows, and four leaf clovers and green, green, green.

St Patrick's Day Adult Dessert

St Patrick's Day Adult Dessert
St. Patrick’s Day is an “adult” celebration for many of us. When I was in my twenties it meant drinking really gross green colored beer in an “Irish” bar. The floors of course were covered with more of the lovely green beer by the end of the night which by my thirties was completely unappealing.

St Patrick's Day Pizza

St Patrick's Day Pizza
I ran across the below recipe in the Food Network Magazine, on newsstands now, and thought it really interesting. What a great riff on the traditional corned beef and cabbage or lamb stew.

Mardi Gras Cake

Mardi Gras King Cake
As promised here is a King Cake Recipe. I like King Cake as a breakfast sweet rather than a dessert after a meal. The cake is more like a brioche or kind of like a group cinnamon roll.

At The Oscar's: Pain Perdue
How about hosting a simple but elegant dessert and champagne party during the Oscars? The French serve a wonderful dessert called Pain Perdue which translates as “lost bread” or “French toast.”

Valentine's Brunch A Deux or Breakfast in Bed
Serve your lover a leaning tower of hearts. Pile a stack of heart shaped pancakes or heart shaped waffles high on a pretty dish. Drizzle red berry preserves and top with a bit of whipped cream. Yummy!

Family Valentines

A Family Valentine's Menu
Not to be forgotten at Valentine’s is your family or friends of the family. You know those people you hold near and dear to your heat through thick and thin–those people that are just part of your being.

Eat Your Heart Out Valentines Dinner Celebration

Eat Your Heart Out Valentines Dinner Celebration
This is a fabulous, really fun party for the foodies in your life or for the singles or the long married because it is all about strong full flavored foods. Think olives, garlic, onions, peppers, fish, coffee, and all those other ingredients you can’t enjoy if you have to worry about your breath.

Black Bean, Feta & Corn Salsa

Black Bean, Feta & Corn Salsa
This Recipe was given to me from one of my bookclub friends. She brought it to one of our annual summer barbeque potlucks. We all loved it. I begged her for the recipe and now I am sharing it with you.

Superbowl Bash, Party or Celebration
Since it is a football party and people will be grazing through the whole game we suggest you lay the table with all the food at once or serve some early in the game and save the main course for half time. Don’t try to serve sit down courses-it is a football celebration after all.

Christmas Day Brunch Menu

Christmas Day Brunch Menu
It’s a Holly Jolly Christmas here at Royal Tart. We have Christmas weather (cold and rainy) and lots of Christmas Cheer. The Christmas Trees are decorated and a Christmas Day Brunch Menu has been set. We are ready to celebrate and party!

Pumpkin Scones with Maple Cream
Enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea or Thanksgiving brunch with style and ease.

The Perfect Old Fashioned Popcorn Ball
So to get into the spirit of an old-fashioned Halloween I am sharing the perfect popcorn ball recipe that is included in the Royal Tart Trick-or-Treat Celebration!

Thick-Cut Pork Chops with Dried Cherry Pan Sauce
I wanted to share a new recipe that I created just tonight. It will be great for any of your celebratory dinners.

  • Place Card Holders & Place Cards:
  • I love the dimension place card holders and place cards add to a place setting and to a tablescape. I also love the added touch of a place card—often times the place card is the “wow” or the unexpected on the table—which is always a mark of a well planned table setting (ah tip number 1a—add an unexpected or “wow” element to your table setting to set yourself apart from other fabulous hosts).

Even though I like the visual aesthetic of a place card holder and place card I do not always want to tell my guests where to sit nor do I know where my guests might want to sit. So what is a girl to do without names for her place cards? Well, use place cards to include funny incidents about the honorees life or pictures of guests at other celebrations or how about witty sayings and quotes? Any of these place card tips add interest to a table setting and create the “wow!”

As an example one year before Thanksgiving I sent out an email to my guests asking them what they were thankful for. Some of the responses were traditional; some thought provoking and some down right funny. I printed these responses on each place card without names and placed them on the table at each place setting. It was fun and made for a great Thanksgiving dinner discussion.

Check in soon for other great celebration recipes and party tips.
